Star Pledges – Cure

This campaign is currently in draft mode.

Pledge Description

In many mission countries, children suffer from disabilities caused by malnutrition, leaving them unable to walk. Without a wheelchair, they’re confined to one spot or forced to crawl. Maltese and Gozitan missionaries provide wheelchairs through donations, giving these children mobility and dignity. A €250 pledge can transform a child’s life.

  • About This Campaign

In mission countries where Maltese or Gozitan missionaries work, we often encounter people—mostly children—who, due to their own malnutrition and that of their mothers before birth, suffer from a form of disability that prevents them from walking properly because their legs do not function as they should.

As a result, these children end up destined to spend their lives seated on a wooden or plastic chair, as their families cannot afford to buy a wheelchair that would allow them to move around and at least get some fresh air outside.

Through the il-Missjoni Bżonnok marathons, Maltese and Gozitan missionaries are able to purchase these wheelchairs, which make the lives of these children much easier and more dignified. Instead of being stuck in one spot on a chair, or dragging themselves across the floor, these children can be taken outside and even pushed around in the countryside surrounding them.

With a Star Pledge of €300 for wheelchairs, many children in poor mission countries will benefit. Your donation today could literally mean a new beginning for them.

Pledge Description

The Maltese organization Love and Peace, supported by Fondazzjoni U, runs an orphanage in Kenya for abandoned babies with no one to care for them. The home now needs help to provide milk, diapers, and medical care. A €300 pledge every 3 months sponsors a baby and offers them the love and care they’ve never had.

  • About This Campaign

Anyone who regularly follows the Il-Missjoni Bżonnok marathons, which Fondazzjoni U organizes three times a year, has surely heard of the Maltese organization Love and Peace, led by Mariella Calleja. With the support and help she receives from the generous hearts of Maltese and Gozitan people, she carries out valuable missionary work in Kenya.

During the last marathons, the project of an orphanage for abandoned babies—who never had any shelter to turn to—was mentioned several times. This project is now complete and is filled with very young babies. Naturally, to keep these babies in the best possible conditions, the management of this orphanage needs support.

The Love & Peace organization is appealing to viewers to offer a pledge of €300 during this marathon, through which you would sponsor a baby by providing milk, diapers, and any medical care they may need for 3 months. Your donation during this marathon will give new hope to these babies who, since birth, have not had anyone to provide them with the love and care they deserve.
