About This Campaign
Another project that we will be supporting and assisting during this marathon is the Clean Stoves initiative by Dun Anton Grech in Izabal, Guatemala. These stoves replace the open fires and smoke typically found in the poor households of the community, where Dun Anton has been carrying out invaluable missionary work for many years. The smoke is toxic because cooking is done using firewood, without any kind of chimney.
The clean stoves project uses about 70% less firewood for cooking, allowing children more time to attend school instead of spending their early mornings searching for and cutting wood. These modern stoves include a chimney, which completely eliminates smoke from the home.
Each clean stove costs €150, and Fr. Anton is appealing for the generosity of our viewers to help raise enough funds in a short time to provide between 150 and 200 clean stoves to these families.
By donating €150 online today, you can directly be part of Dun Anton Grech’s project in Guatemala, helping make life significantly more comfortable for these families and sparing them from illnesses caused by the toxic smoke they inhale while cooking.
Donate online now and make a difference. The poor families and children in Izabal, Guatemala, thank you.
